"60 is The New 40"

If you are here, searching for a Website dedicated to the idea that you have done enough in life, this may not be the Website you are searching for.  But if you are determined to discover and share the vast knowledge that you have gained through faith and perseverance with a community endeavored to see that The Best Parts of Life are just beginning; welcome to The New Millennials.

Discoveries made within the last 60 years have affected nearly every aspect of a universally better life, for all.  From commerce to use of technology, complexity was supposed to be reduced with the invention of advanced computing and the continued shrinking of the microchip.  The advancements of the 21st Century may have fallen short of “flying cars” and robots as house servants.  However, these shortcomings are easily overshadowed when we look back at the effects that The 21st Century has had on aging.   Aging, or a better question “what is aging”, is best reflected in the lives of “The New Millennials”.  This age group made up of 60-years old and older, now dominates and defines this century.  Of all the inventions that will reflect and register in the history books to come, no other will be more astounding than how we have managed to not only live longer, but to become more productive, prominent and prosperous, at or after the age of 60?

Artificial Intelligence defines the new phenomena this way; The saying "60 is the new 40" reflects a societal shift where people in their 60's are often more active, healthy, and engaged than previous generations were at that age. This notion is fueled by increased life expectancy and a greater focus on healthy lifestyles and personal well-being, making 60-year-olds feel and act more like people in their 40s”.

Now, we the “60 is the New 40" generation still run and many of us still run very fast, we also lift weights and train regularly.  Our appetites have maintained their desire for rich and flowing good foods, and our eyes and smiles show no traces of dimming.  We also look good going out, alone or with a partner.  Plus, according to www.Rubyhome.com 79% of us own our home.  Finally, purely just window dressing, but we look good dressed or undressed.

If you were born here in America or abroad before 1966, then you have seen the rise of cultural movements or shifts in culture that have affected what we think, how we dress, what we believe, and how we behave.  Understanding that, it’s hard not to see that we are possibly in the midst of the most endearing and dominant cultural movements ever.  "60 is the New 40" is a seismic shift in how we live, how we think, what we buy and own, and most importantly what we believe about ourselves.  This website is designed to pose the question anecdotally, and through actual stories and research; What is Aging, if we can still do everything that we always did before, and some better?  Because of that, aging now requires a new definition and this new definition must include those of us 60 years and older.  We are at the heart of these cultural changes. We are "60 is The New 40" The New Millennials.
